The Tornadoes narrowly defeated West Babylon 20-13 last Friday
Harborfields will have to pick up the energy and technique if they want to win against an elite program such as WestHampton.
Throughout all four years, Polay has dominated on the line racking up “pancakes” (i.e. when an offensive lineman hits a defensive lineman he ends up laying flat on his back, you know, like a pancake) and tackles for a loss.
Managing sports on top of school can be a very stressful thing. School is already hard enough so adding sports to the mix can get a little hectic. Your coaches and teammates expect you to give 110 percent and your teachers expect you to give them the same. Doing everything that is asked of you stretches yourself pretty thin. So how do we manage to stay on top of our game?
Following the 2019 preseason tryouts, the HF Girls’ Varsity Soccer Coach has recruited 3 freshmen for the upcoming fall season. After a promising tryout, Ruby Sember, Melissa Neder, and Kristina Hansen were welcomed onto varsity.
When you normally think of Harborfields sports, most people either instantly think of basketball or lacrosse. If you fall under this vast majority, it may be time to change your mindset. Cue in the 2019 Harborfields Tornadoes baseball team, who are a vibrant, exciting, young group of guys who know what it takes to win ball-games.
When it comes to high school sports there is always this tough balance between doing well in school and doing well on the field with your team. As a student athlete your day usually goes something like this:You go to school until 2:20. Then, you have practice that starts around 3. practice usually runs until 5 or 5:30. You get home around 6, you shower, you eat, then you go to sit down and study your school work but you realize there is one problem. All you want to do is lay in your bed and sleep, but you have to find a way to get the energy to get your work done and prepare for all of your tests. You do this day in and day out.
Hopefully, the Tornadoes can move past a tough loss, as they look to defeat the Islip Buccaneers at home this Saturday at 1pm.
