SINGING FOR SLOAN: MAGGIE SCHMIDT

Our HFamily will be hosting a concert in honor of Maggie Schmidt, a Junior here at Harborfields High School. Her friends and family wanted to display her admiration for music by organizing her own special event. As a young person battling cancer, it is extremely important that our community supports her and this event. The “Singing for Sloan” concert will be held on May 12, 2017 at 5 p.m in the high school auditorium. Tickets are 5 dollars.

There is still room for the talented students and staff in our high school to perform in this concert. So far there are about twenty acts, but with such a great occasion we would of course appreciate more performers to generate better attendance. Whether you play an instrument, rap, sing, or play in a band, you should definitely take this opportunity and help raise money for an incredible cause.

Ms. McGinty is helping students run this event, and she reinforces the fact that “this concert should have kids from all audiences or groups of friends. We want athletes, theatre kids, and Global Justice Kids.”

All proceeds made from the “Singing for Sloan” concert will be donated to cancer research. As said before, tickets are only five dollars and there will also be opportunities for donations. Please mark your calendars for Friday, May 12, 2017 at 5 p.m to come out and support what the HFamily is all about.
