Spring Sports Update
The Harborfields spring sports are already half way into the season! The teams are working very well, and achieving a lot! Here is a sports update of who they have versed so far and how the scoring is.
Boys Varsity Lacrosse is currently in the top 3 divisions doing very good this season. They are in the 2nd division bringing 5 wins and only 3 losses. Bringing wins from West Babylon (16-8),Miller Place (15-6), Mt.Sinai (10-5), Mattituck (7-0), and St. John the Baptist (13-9.) Losing at Southside (6-16), Comsewogue(3-4), and East Islip (3-9.) We have Jack Weiss assisting by 7 and making 7 goals, Nate Smith with 3 goals, Our goalie Charlie Serafin with 72 saves and Nick Schiliro with 22, Chase Ritcey with 18 goals and 7 assists, Chris Prainito with 9 goals and 6 assists, Jack Poller with 2 assists, Colin McCarthy with 7 goals and 4 assists, Nico Markowski with 9 goals and 3 assists, Mason LaRocco with 4 goals and 2 assists, Lance Droskoski with 3 goals, Brady Cavanaugh with 1 assist, Michael Caccamo with 1 goal, Vern Bratton with 2 goals, and Vincent Bolognino with 9 goals and 9 assists.
Girls Varsity Lacrosse is in division 2-4 right now bringing 3 wins and 4 losses. Winning against Bayshore (11-3), Bellport (115-4), Babylon (12-5). Losing at Miller place (3-9), Rocky Point, (4-10), Smithtown West (7-13), Bayport-Blue Point (6-11). Sawyer Scarlona getting 11 goals and 7 assists so far this season, Nora Ruddy getting 6 goals and 2 assists, Isabella Moneteleone with 16 goals and 2 assists, Kiera Medina with 3 goals, Jaime Medico with 3 goals and 1 assist, Ally Fiuarma with 1 goal and 1 assist, Juliet Gianfresco with 1 goal and 1 assist, Meaghan Fealy with 13 goals and 3 assist, Taylor Cavanaugh with 4 goals, and Goalie Mackenzie Conversano with 5 saves and Olivia Eusanio with 56 saves
Girls Flag football has had 4 games this season so far losing 3 of them and winning 1. Losing against Whittman 0-28, Sayville 7-39, and Kings Park 0-7, but winning against Wyandanch 25-7. They still have more than 5 games to come so let's wish them good luck and support them during their games so they will end the season successfully.
Boys Varsity Baseball so far this season has had 4 wins and 4 losses. They went against Hamptons bay three times, winning twice and losing once.On 4/01/2024 they came with a winning 10-1 and on 4/06/2024 a win with a score of 4-3! They lost once against them 8-0.They lost against Islip twice (1-9) (1-11) but they came back with a win against them (7-3) also bringing another win 2 days later against Cold Spring Harbor (10-3)!
Girls Softball has had 7 games and only won 1 out of the 7. They lost 0-15 to Islip, 1-29 to Sayville, 1-11 to Kings Park, 5-18 to Shoreham-Wading River, 3-16 to Miller place and 3-22 to Mt.Sinai. But they did win 12-0 for their “for a cause game” against John Glenn to raise awareness for breast cancer. “The team sold pink shirts, to raise funds as well.” said Franco. Madison Maggio has 1 home-run during her John Glenn game, during her Sayville game she got 2 at bats, one hit and a 2B. Lily Thompsett has 1 hit, 1 runs, 4 AB’s, and 1 RBI. Sophia Juliana had 3 AB for her Shoreham-Wading River game, one hit and one RB. During her Sayville game she had 1 AB and 1 run. Sadie Foreman had 3 AB, one run and one RBI during her SHoreham-Wading RIver game. And 2 AB for her Sayville game. Violet Fava got 3 AB for her Shoreham-Wading RIver game. Christiana Ebe got 2 AB’s and 1 hit during her Shoreham-wading River game.
Boys Tennis is doing very good and only has lost one game out of their 6. They lost once against Half Hollow Hills East 3-4 but won against Bay Shore 7-0. Port Jefferson 5-2, Smithtown East 7-0, Huntington 4-3 and John Glenn 7-0.
Boys Track and field ended the season at 4-2. They won three meets against Sayville, King’s Park, and Wyandanch. They lost to Amityville and West Hills. They won their final meet against Islip on Thursday, 5/9. Good luck to the athletes competing at Counties!
