High School Students Partner with The Little Tornadoes for an “Internship Experience”
This year we’ve established the Little Tornadoes “Internship Experience” as a pilot program for future job shadows and internships that will be a part of next year’s Harborfields CTE-Media Pathway Program: The Harborfields Multi-Media Production Academy.
High School Advanced Broadcast Students start their day at Washington Drive Primary School working with Little Tornadoes Advisor, Melissa Own, and Principal, Kathy McNally, along with the second grade students to film news segments during the bi-weekly Little Tornadoes Club Meetings. The high school media students then, transfer the clips to our HS computer network to be edited in Adobe Premiere.

WDPS Pumpkin Patch with Ms. Owen’s Class from October 18, 2023
The Little Tornadoes’ News program is a collaborative program between Washington Drive Primary School and Harborfields HS. Under the guidance of Principal, Kathryn McNally and Little Tornadoes Club Advisor, Melissa Owen, students in WDPS film segments for their news program. The files are then shared with Harborfields High School’s Tornado News Team. Tornado News students in the Intro to Production, Mass Media, or Broadcast Journalism classes then edit and post the videos.
