The Effects of Climate Change

Climate change has been prevalent in today's society, as global warming is slowly killing animals and changing the way we live. This climate change is evidently a threat to the world's sandy beaches. When interviewing Allison Brown, she said, “People need to at least slow down the process of global warming. For example, people can recycle more and use less hot water.”

A new study has proven that approximately half of these beaches will disappear by the end of the century. Junior Kieran Tully, said, “It's sad to face the fact that most global temperature changes are due to human activities.”

Yet, besides all of this found research many people are not trying to promote things that can help climate change. Many coastlines all across the world are becoming unrecognizable, from 14% to 15% facing severe amounts of erosion. Junior Allie Kennedy said, “Climate change is causing a wide range of impacts that will affect virtually every human on Earth in increasingly severe ways.” People need to become more aware of the dangers of climate change and realize it's not a joke anymore.

Studies are showing that while the amount of beach erosion will vary, places that are densely populated will see shorelines retreat inland by nearly 330 feet by 2100. While many people think this won’t be of affect to us, it is.
