MTV EMAs

The 27th annual EMAs were hosted by British girl group Little Mix. According to MTV, 

“The 2020 MTV EMA has been unlike any other before it, but one thing has stayed the same: your faves won BIG all thanks to you!” 

The EMAs took place in Bilbao, Spain. Little Mix, being one for the biggest girl groups, performed their recently released single, Sweet Melody. They also won for the category of best pop. 

There were many great performances from artist such as: Doja Cat, Tate McRae, Why Don’t We, Zara Larsson, Madison Beer, YUNGBLUD, Karol G, 24KGoldn, Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, Maluma, David Guetta, Jack Harlow, and DaBaby. 

BTS, one of the most famous South Korean boy bands won a total of 4 EMA awards. They won “Best Song”, “Best Group”, “Best Virtual Live”, and “Biggest Fans”.

Karol G, Colombian singer-songwriter, won MTV’s first ever “Best Latin” EMA, and also won “Best Collaboration” for her song Tusa featuring Nicki Minaj. 

Lady Gaga, American singer-songwriter, won “Best Artist” of the year. The winner for this year’s “Best Video” was DJ Khaled, for his music video he did for his song Popstar featuring the Canadian rapper Drake, which starred Justin Bieber. Cardi B, American rapper from Manhattan, won “Best Hip Hop”. The British rock band Coldplay won “Best Rock”.
