The Heckscher Park Fall Festival

The Heckscher Park Fall Festival happens every year around the same time. It occurs Columbus day weekend from October 8th-11th.

This festival is huge, filled with rides, food, small shops and live music. Many people show up to this festival and it gets a lot of talk. The times vary every day so it's convenient for people who have children who may work in an office or from home. The tickets for rides are pretty inexpensive and they also allow you to buy a bracelet.

There are rides for young kids, teenagers and even adults can go on them. Due to coronavirus this festival didn't happen last year, but many people were ecstatic to hear that it was back up and running in 2021.

One of my friends, Lindsay Arcoleo from Hauppauge was there with us, she said, “The fair was filled with rides and it was nice to be at a fair like normal again.” Some of the rides there were the Rockstar, Ferris Wheel, Pharaoh's Fury, Slingshot, Alien Invasion and a couple more. Senior Julia Geffken said, “It's a fun fair to be at especially with your friends.” The fair also had games you can play in order to win a prize, for example basketball. I saw many people there who I knew and it felt how it used to be without COVID-19. I suggest if this fair happens again in 2022, you and your friends or you and your family should go. It's a great way to escape from reality for a moment.
