After Two Years is Chaos Walking Finally Coming Out?
With a cast including big names like Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley, Nick Jonas, Mads Mikkelsen, and many more: Chaos Walking has been a movie many fans have been anxiously awaiting. Unfortunately, though, Chaos Walking ran into a lot of… chaos while in production.
The movie is based on the popular book series by Patrick Ness, Chaos Walking, which takes place in a world where a germ killed all the women, so when the main character Todd (played by Tom Holland) runs into a girl (Daisy Ridley) things get a little crazy. The film began production back in 2017 and was scheduled for release in 2019. However, in 2018 the film was scheduled for “significant reshoots” but with Ridley being caught up with Star Wars and Holland filming with Marvel, the scheduling for reshoots quickly became a hassle. When they finally were able to shoot the actors now looked noticeably older than their 2017 selves. Needless to say, it was a mess.
After a lot of waiting and wondering if Chaos Walking would ever make its way to the big screen finally, we have a release date. On November 19th the official trailer was released taking the internet by storm. Senior Sophia DiPrima says, “I read the books so I’m really excited to watch this movie, while I am a little worried about how everything will come together, I think the cast will make it worth it!” The trailer gave us an inside look at the strange dystopian world these characters live in packed with lots of action, a possible romance between Todd and Viola, and a shocking (in my opinion) cameo of Nick Jonas.
Chaos Walking is set to release on January 22nd, 2021 and hopefully, with the new spike of Corona cases, this release is still a possibility. If circumstances allow, I will definitely be heading to the theaters on January 22nd, will you?
