Newsworthy Netflix
During this quarantine it’s easy to find yourself bored. Most of us are tired of doing school work and the easiest way to escape it is by watching something on Netflix. If you’re struggling to find something to watch, here are some shows to check out.
Recently, I’ve started watching Criminal Minds, a show about FBI agents profiling criminals and catching them. There are 12 seasons on Netflix and 15 total. One of my friends suggested I watch it and we’ve been watching it together through the google chrome extension called Netflix Party where you and your friends can watch Netflix at the same time and talk through a chat session. The best thing about the show is you don’t have to watch every single episode to enjoy it since they all have different storylines.
Rubenia Aguilar has been watching On My Block. The show is a coming of age story about a group of teenagers living in South Central Los Angeles. They face many challenges like trying to get their friend out of a gang, romance and the constant danger of their town. “I would suggest this show because it’s funny and the plot is very interesting. My favorite character is Jasmine because of her sense of humor and confidence.” The show has 3 seasons and 28 episodes total, making it an easy binge.
Brianna Chavez has been catching up on the last season of The 100. The post apocalyptic science fiction drama has 6 seasons. After a nuclear apocalypse wiped out Earth, people were forced to live on a space station. 100 juvenile delinquents are sent back to Earth in hopes of it being habitable. Brianna thinks more people should watch the show because, “The storyline is really interesting, I love all the actors in the show.”
Another great show on Netflix is Atypical. It’s about a teenager on the autism spectrum seeking a life of independence. The main character, Sam Gardner goes on a journey of self discovery while his family struggles with their own problems. It has 3 seasons and 28 episodes.
Anne with an E is another amazing show. It has 3 seasons and unfortunately there won’t be anymore seasons. The show is about the adventures of an orphan in the 1890s. It’s based on the novel Anne of Green Gables. Two siblings who never married and are getting old decide to adopt a boy to help out on their farm. However, they are given a girl by mistake and they take her in as their own. The show goes into the story of Anne becoming part of the family and making a big impact on her community.
Hopefully these suggestions were helpful. Netflix is full of many amazing shows and it can be hard to find one to watch, these shows are great to watch during this long quarantine.
