Eagles or Chiefs for the Super Bowl?
It’s now official that after the AFC and NFC championships this past weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will face each other on the Super Bowl LIX, which will kick off at 6:30 PM EST on Saturday, February 9th. The last time these two teams faced each other in the Super Bowl was back in 2023 in which the Chiefs won with a score of 38 - 35. This will be a big rematch as both teams have shown many improvements since 2023 with the Eagles having a strong 14 wins and 3 losses this season, while the Chiefs have a record of 15 wins and 2 losses. Now the big question, who will win the Super Bowl this year?
To start, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year, leaving too many people on social media platforms to make it clear that they want the Chiefs to lose. But, that doesn't mean everyone wants the Eagles to win.
Some people argue that there is hope for the Chiefs to win their third consecutive Super Bowl due to their consistent defense, and they finished their defense #4 best defense this season. Some will refute this and say the Chiefs are losing the Super Bowl for the protection of their quarterback Patrick Mahomes who plays for the Chiefs. According to ESPN, “Mahomes was sacked 36 times this season which was the most in his career, and with an additional 5 times during the playoffs” being a total of 41 sacks this season. The Chiefs have to figure out how to protect Mahomes before Super Bowl LIX.
Now let’s talk about the Eagles having the best defense and running game in the NFL according to ESPN. Many Eagles fans are hoping for Saquon Berkley a former Giants player who transferred to the Eagles in the 2024 offseason for an explosive play during the Super Bowl. He is a big influence for the Eagles as shown in the NFC Championship Game. The Eagles have a bully mindset towards other teams to exhaust their players for them to have a smooth win. Concerns regarding the Eagles is how their passing game has been left to be desired. Their defense has been performing on such a high level that the focus has become more on not turning the ball over through the air. While Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts has been excellent in that regard, the Eagles have to plan out their scheme borders on their running routes for some players.
With Super Bowl LIX coming up in the next two weeks, it seems possible that the championship will go to anyone. Some people are interested in who will win in this rematch, or maybe they are only here for Kendrick Lamar and SZA's performance at the halftime show. This Super Bowl can go to anyone, and it will be very interesting for football fans to see who wins the championship.
