After 7 years since the PS4 came out, Sony has now come out with their new PlayStation 5. The PS5 will be available starting November 12, 2020. Pre-orders started September 17, 2020.
The PS5 will also come in a Digital Edition, which means that the disc drive will be removed. Users who buy the PS5 Digital Edition will be able to buy all their games on the console.
The PS5 costs $499.99 and the PS5 Digital Edition costs $399.99. The PlayStation 5 is 100 more dollars than the PS4.
The new design for the PS5 was released on June 11, 2020. The PlayStation 5 will be coming out in a white and black plastic with blue accents. According to Techspot the PS5 will have a cooling system. In their article about the PS5’s cooling system they state, “The cooling system in the PS5 will have software controlling it that Sony says will improve its performance over time based on data collected from individual games.” This is a great feature to have in a gaming console because while playing games consoles tend to heat up, but now with this cooling system it won’t and it'll make the gaming experience better.
The PS5 will maximize the user's play session with fast loading times. The load time is nearly instant. The PlayStation 5 also has ray tracing, 4K TV gaming, 120fps with120 Hz, HDR technology, 3D audio and 8K output. Ray tracing creates true-to-life shadows and reflection in games supported by the PS5. PS5 games display an amazing vibrant and lifelike range of colors. The PS5 comes with a 8K output to provide the user with 4320p resolution making the gaming experience even better.
According to techradar’s article about the PS5, the PlaySation will come with a DualSense controller, “The PS5 will come with a new gamepad, one that Sony is dubbing the DualSense PS5 controller, not the DualShock 5, like you'd expect.” The controller comes in a white and black color scheme. The PS5 comes with one controller, extra controllers cost $69.99 each. The controller comes with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The DualSense controller also comes with an internal microphone, giving the user the option to use headphones or not.
The PlayStation 5 is a big upgrade from the PlayStation 4. With all the new features, gamers can’t wait for it to be available in stores and many have already pre-ordered it.
