Maggie’s Mission Mile Run
Maggie's Mission is hosting their 4th Annual Maggie's Mile Race which is a 1 mile run/walk. Instead of being only one day at Sunken Meadow State Park, It’s now a virtual event to be completed any time between January 1st and January 10th of 2021 due to the Coronavirus. This is one way that you can give back to families during the new year of 2021 and during the pandemic.
Maggie’s Mission™ is devoted to raising awareness for pediatric cancers for children around the world and their families. They have been known to fund cutting-edge research that will be able to benefit children around the world; while also providing families with assistance with children who are affected.
Harborfields High School teacher Mr. Barrett has been supporting this program since Maggie was one of his students. He said, “Maggie Schmidt was part of the Harborfields Family who was taken from this Earth too soon from a rare and aggressive type of Cancer. Maggie was my student and my friend and I am honored to run in her name.”
For this virtual event, the cost for adults to participate is $30 and for children 12 and under it’s $15. The first 200 participants to register can receive a Maggie’s Mission Mask shown here! Since this event is virtual you do not have to worry about wearing a mask or wearing this free one.
The mailing of these masks begins Monday December 28th of 2020. It’s a thank you for the support you have given for spending your time and money to help out an amazing cause. The last day to register and post your times for the mile is on January 10th of 2021.
