Find out Harborfields’ new approach to COVID-19 Precautions!
With COVID-19 precautions still mandatory for public schools across America, many adjustments can be made to ensure the comfort of the staff and students of Harborfields Highschool.
This past year and a half coronavirus has been a struggle for everyone, with administrations trying to help everyone out. The new vaccine has just come out a couple months ago and masks are no longer mandated in most outdoor places.
As for the school, we can make adjustments that the students and staff have recommended. For one we could bring back virtual learning because most students have said that they felt the most comfortable staying at home and learning.
Most parents also appreciate this. In some classes maybe we could go outside and take mask breaks when it gets too hot in the early fall or late spring or just to breathe.
Student Kayla Hibbert, a senior at Harborfields Highschool, said, “We should continue to cater to the different types of comfortability…the return of plexiglass in classrooms could also make students feel more secure in school.” I do agree with this statement because many students would agree they don't want to risk getting coronavirus from other students or due to outside health issues.
Their family at home also might have health issues. The plexiglass keeps you in your own box away from others at a comfortable distance from others. I also think we should bring back the thermometers at the entrances to tell when someone has a fever. It shows your temperature and gives you a green light if you are okay to go.
