Trump’s 1st Address

“Tonight I call upon all of us to set aside our differences, to seek out common ground, and to summon the unity we need to deliver for the people. This is really the key. These are the people we were elected to serve, Said Mr. Trump in the 2018 State of the Union address on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in the the United States House of Representatives. In his address, he calls upon Americans to have a state of unity.

Mr.Trump also spoke of improving America's quality of infrastructure, including tax cuts, expanding the U.S. military, and the president championed paid family leave infrastructure that allows families to care for each other without risking economic stability by giving financial care while the person or family member is unable to work.

The president spoke about the tragedies seen through the year, his response: “In the aftermath … we came together, not as Republicans or Democrats, but as representatives of the people. But it is not enough to come together only in times of tragedy…” Overall the president’s address showed a theme of closing the gap between the country’s split political views and forming unity to better all parties.
