Rules For Thee, But Not For Me

Recently, California Governor Gavin Newsom went to a friend’s 50th birthday dinner. Pictures were taken of him and a dozen other people sitting shoulder to shoulder in a private indoor room at the French Laundry, one of the most expensive restaurants in the world. This comes after he imposed strict lockdown rules for COVID-19. His friend, lobbyist, Jason Kinney’s spokesperson said, “The guests specifically requested outdoor seating.”

After Newsom was caught, he made a public apology saying, “I should have gone home”, and “I must preach and practice, not just preach.” He also made note that the dinner was outside. Now was he apologizing for partaking in this birthday bash?  Or was he apologizing that he got caught? No one asked him. Sitting beside him at the table was the CEO of California’s Medical Association who represents thousands of medical professionals in the state of California, setting quite the example for his inferiors to follow.

When the pictures surfaced from the Los Angeles Times, it showed Newsom’s apology wasn’t only a lie about sitting outside, but it’s a further cover up to what is really happening in 2020. Elite governors are imposing unnecessarily strict rules, but don’t even care to follow them themselves. A more believable statement would’ve included him saying that he doesn’t really believe in his own rules because he knows that COVID-19 poses little to no threat to anyone without underlying medical issues. Two people in California have died from COVID-19 who were under the age of 18, two people, but the entire state must lockdown.

This whole situation is even more ironic because Gavin Newsom himself sent his kids to private school for in-person education. Of course he would, he loves his kids. He, who is also in charge of all public schools, ordered them to shut down and do so without any in-person learning. It’s clearly evident that kids don’t learn anything online. At best, it deteriorates their mental health, and lowers their intelligence. He never bothered to explain why he shut down schools statewide for a virus that kids face a 99.99% survival rate from. The .01% is about equivalent to your odds of getting struck by lighting. 99.99% isn’t a term just to grab people’s attention. It is not a term to just use in the media either. It’s a proven scientific term. The survival rate for teachers and other school employees under the age of 70 is 99.5-99.9%. The leaders should follow the science of facts, not the science of fear and politics.

This isn’t the only incident that has surfaced. At least Newsom was stand-up enough to say something. What he gave us sure was better than what Nancy Pelosi said after her maskless salon run, blaming the salon owner for elaborately setting her up. And to his credit, he didn’t follow the example of Diane Feinstein after she refused to answer all questions regarding her maskless airport scene. We need to recognize the hypocrisy going on, and how it is shaping life in 2020.

There is much more to this than a rouge dinner party at the French Laundry. This speaks to how society in America is run in 2020.  Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said in a press conference, “To all the people following the guidelines, sincerely thank you, but for the 1% that aren’t, you need to get inside. You need to distance or there will be repercussions.” Evidently, that “1%” included a paddle boarder, out in the Pacific Ocean. After ignoring lifeguard orders to get out of the water, he was hauled in by the cops and slapped with a $1,000 fine, and a possible 6 months in jail, if convicted of violating King Newsom’s order. However you don’t have to resort to paddle boarding if your itch to break the law just can’t be scratched. You can always loot a Target, or torch a McDonalds or beat up an old lady in the street. That’s federally protected political speech according to numerous left wing politicians, but authentic human contact, illegal. Only the ruling class get that.

If there is one picture that sums up life this year that people can look back on in 20 years and see exactly what life was like in 2020, it’s Gavin Newsom’s dinner party. This is a royal embarrassment of how government in America should be run. The elites of the Democrat Party have no shame in their actions, but reprimand you for stepping out of line in the slightest.  They force you to do one thing while they do another thing. They aren’t embarrassed when they get caught, instead they just laugh at you for being inferior. “You can’t do anything to me”, is their mentality. Then they continue to force you to obey. That’s how communist China controls their people, not America, and our leaders are taking a page right out of their instruction manual. It’s your choice if you want to accept that or not.
