NYC Boards up for the Presidential Election

As the election of our next president gets closer, many businesses have decided to take precaution in keeping their businesses safe. Mostly in major cities, New York City being one of them. Many fear there will be potential civil unrest coming from the election. It may take a couple of days before we hear who our new elected president is. Either way NYC will be prepared.

Major stores like Nordstrom, Tiffany & Company, Saks Fifth Avenue, and many more will be taking high precaution in keeping their businesses safe. In a NY Times article Tiffany & Company said, “Windows of select stores in key cities will be boarded in anticipation of potential election-related activity.” Many other businesses will be doing the same thing.

Many stores are worried about the trouble this election will cause, and they are planning on keeping their stores intact. Many businesses have experienced mayhem with the Black Lives Matter protests and are concerned with what kind of unrest could come with the election results.

This is a serious matter. Many store owners have gone far enough to protect their businesses, that they are even training their employees on how to de-escalate tensions that may occur when in the store. Many stores have upped their security. Multiple businesses this year alone have lost 1 billion dollars due to looting and vandalism from BLM protesters and business owners will not let that happen again.
