"Anne With an E" was Cancelled and I'm LIVID

My anger right now: Immense. My sadness: Soaring. My hopes and dreams for the future of this world: Crushed. What am I talking about you ask? The fact that Netflix cancelled one of it’s best shows, Anne with an E.

No show on Netflix has accomplished what Anne with an E was able to accomplish in its short, three (amazing) seasons. Each episode had new problems to overcome that were portrayed in a meaningful and significant way. The amount of times I cried tears of happiness because of the messages this show exhibits is insane.

The time period of the show, which is the late 19th century/ early 20th century, allows for the teens of this time to attack many of the issues that happened at that time but are still prevalent in society today like: Women’s rights, Racism, Freedom of Speech, Sexual Assault and more. The writing is beautiful and incredibly well done.

Anne with an E also supports an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G main ship that makes you just die because they’re so freaking cute. Amybeth McNulty is an incredible actress and even though she started the show at the young age of fourteen she’s never missed a beat with her range of emotion as Anne. Lucas Jade Zumann is incredible as well and his acting as Gilbert Blythe would make anyone want to watch.

Junior Ella Lau says, “It’s a travesty that Anne With an E was cancelled, Netflix only focuses on advertising shows that don’t need advertising such as Stranger Things. They need to prioritize smaller shows because this is the same thing that happened with Everything Sucks and One Day at a Time.

Netflix, sincerely, from a heartbroken fan #renewannewithane!!!!!
