“The Bachelorette” Season 16: Episode 2 Recap
On last night’s episode of the Bachelorette, the 39-year-old bachelorette got very vulnerable and deep with the other bachelor men. On her one-one-one date with Jason, they had to write a letter to their old selves and confront their demons together. The two finitely exposed some secrets that no one was ready for. However, it allowed the viewers to get to know Jason and Clare better.
It was a shock to many when Clare suddenly sent Brandon home after he couldn’t give Clare a reason as to why he chose to be on the Bachelor this season. All he could mention was how pretty she was. Clare was not happy. I mean I agree, if you’re going to sign up to be on the show, you should definitely know more about Bachelorette than just her name. She sent him home because he was “not the person she was looking for.”
Another surprising event Clare was very taken back by was the behavior of the men at the Cocktail Party. Nobody asked Clare if they could steal her away for any one-on-ones. There's two sides to this. I wouldn’t expect any of the men to not want quality time with Clare. In their defense, it was only the first date and maybe they didn’t know. However, if I were Clare I would be embarrassed as well.
After the dodgeball date, the blue team which was also the losing team must go home. However, Blake Moynes, who was a part of the losing team and not allowed to attend the cocktail party, attended the party anyway. He steals Clare from one of the other men, and explains to Clare his dedication. She is very appreciative of this, but after he goes in for a kiss, she rejects it. Definitely an embarrassing moment and very hard to watch.
Now, moving on to the rose ceremony, Clare basically rewards Blake for breaking the rules with a rose. She then steals Dale for some alone time, which we all know by now after watching episode one, that she clearly has a favorite. “It was definitely an eventful episode and I’m anxious for next week’s episode,” says Brooke Buda. See you on Tuesday at 8 bachelorette nation!
