What is the Best New York Sports Team?

There are around 10 Major league sports teams in New York with most of them being located near or in New York City. All of these teams have loyal fans who all think that their team is the best but which one is really the best one?

The 10 sports teams that I am going to talk about are the “Giants, Jets, Bills, Islanders, Rangers, Sabres, Knicks, Nets, Mets, Yankees.” Each of these teams has had its greatest moments and seasons where they have come very close or even won the championship.

Speaking of championships, the New York team that has won the most championships is the Yankees with a total of 27 World Series titles. The Giants come in second with 8 Super Bowl Rings. However, do championships always determine how great a team is? For example, the Knicks have only ever won two championships but they still have one of the best and most loyal fanbases out of any sports team.

Another great thing about New York sports is that there are not only teams in New York City but also teams up north in Buffalo. The two teams that are in Buffalo consist of the Bills and the Sabres who both feature Buffalos in their logo. Both of these teams have never won a championship but are still beloved by their fans. So much so that the the Buffalo Bills fan base is nicknamed “Bills Mafia”.There is also one New York team that is based on Long Island, known as the Islanders.

Another thing that should be considered about how good a sports team is should be its stadium. Some stadiums like Madison Square Garden where the Rangers and Knicks play are highly praised because of its location and the great vibes in the stadium. Highmark Stadium where the Bills play is also famous for its snow games, where the field is covered making it very beautiful to watch.  

However, there is only one New York sports team that is the best and it is the Yankees. The Yankees are the best because they not only have the most championships out of any sports team in New York, but they have the most championships out of any Major Sports Team in the world. The Yankees also have the most fans out of any New York sports team. This can be seen by them having the most ticket sales out of any team. There have also been some legends from the New York Yankees like Derek Jeter, Babe Ruth, and Mickey Mantle.

The Yankees also have one of the most highly praised stadiums out of any sports team.
