Staying on Top of Your Game

You are waking up for the first day of school and are stressed to no end. First day jitters slowly creep their way into your mind. All you can think about is how busy you’re going to be this year with your class load and sports. You want to meet everyone's expectations but don't know how it's humanly possible to do everything, and do it well.

Managing sports on top of school can be a very stressful thing. School is already hard enough so adding sports to the mix can get a little hectic. Your coaches and teammates expect you to give 110 percent and your teachers expect you to give them the same. Doing everything that is asked of you stretches yourself pretty thin. So how do we manage to stay on top of our game?

Time management is the key to this very real struggle that teens face all across the nation. I have asked someone I know who plays sports to tell me if they find it hard to manage everything and how they do it.

“It's easy as long as I manage my time well by immediately getting my work done once I'm home and finding a balance between both,” said Emelie Hochwald.

This gives hope and eases feeling of uncertainty that so many of us have. By

doing school right when you get home, you can find time that you never thought there was in the first place. Another tip would be going to extra help in the mornings if your confused or maybe just wake up early to get homework done if you don't have the time at night. Overall don't give into distractions, put your schoolwork first,  and you should be able to make it through the school year.
