Harborfields Defeats West Babylon 20-13

On Friday night the Harborfields Tornadoes faced The West Babylon Eagles. This was a very important game for the Tornadoes due to the big loss to West Hampton the week before.

The Tornadoes came out strong with a big 3rd down conversion thanks to a 48 yard run by quarterback Jonathan Osmun. After the big run the Tornadoes scored a 20 yard touchdown by running back Ian Mcgullum.

Early in the 2nd quarter the Eagles stuck back with a 2 yard touchdown pass to their tight end. After holding the Tornadoes to a punt the Eagles struck again with a 17 yard touchdown pass, while the next play Ian Mcgullam blocked the PAT holding the score to 13-6.

With less than 2 minutes left in the first half the tornadoes marched down the field to score. A 10 yard touchdown pass from Osmun to Mcgullum tightened the game to 13-12 Eagles.

Midway through the 3rd quarter cornerback Kyle Jusas intercepted the ball at the 7 yard line and returned it for a touchdown to give the Tornadoes a 20-13 lead. It was all defense until the end.

With 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter the Eagles had the ball on the HF 10 yard line. The defense stepped up making a huge 4th down stop to secure the much needed W for the Tornadoes.

Key Players in the win were QB Jonathan Osmun with 75 rushing yards, 80 passing yards and 1 TD.
