HF Girls' V-Ball Family

Volleyball is such a great sport that really brings people together.  It's all about teamwork, communication, and supporting each other. Everyone works together to stride for a common goal, and that sense of unity is what makes volleyball so special.  In Harborfields, we are a family and community.

The Harborfields Volleyball Program has enjoyed much success over the years. It attracts outstanding athletes, who are also mature individuals, able to understand the responsibilities involved with making commitments. Individual commitment to the team as a whole and to your own development as a player is essential for success in this program. There is a tremendous responsibility placed on those who are a part of Harborfields Volleyball.

As a member of the Volleyball Family, you will have your own goals and dreams. We have a JV team coached by Coach Claxton and a Varsity team coached by Coach Legge and her assistant, Coach Torres. This upcoming season the girls have put their sweat, tears, and passion into their skills. Volleyball is a commitment and they go and practice everyday for hours and always try their best.

So far JV has been winning almost all their games. They've so far versed 6 teams (Whittman, Kingspark, Centermoriches, West hamptons, Sayville, and Wyandanch.)

Varsity is also doing good and on a roll; they started off their season sweeping Walt Whittman in a non-league at home.  Then, They went to Penfield and made it to the silver bracket finals in their first tournament. They continued with their season and swept Weshampton and Amityville both 3-0.  Then, they went to their second tournament, Burnt Hills, to compete against the County Champs and finished in the gold bracket. They have an overall record of 3-2 in their season.
We decided to interview coach Legge. “I like working with the kids and building a program from the ground up.” She stated after we asked her what her favorite thing about coaching was at Harborfields. We asked her opinion on how far she thinks the varsity team will make it and she exclaimed  “Yes I think they will make it very far, I also think they will have a great second half of the season.” Lastly, we asked her about today's game.  ”I have confidence in our team and I think we can do it, we match up very well against them.”

HF volleyball is overall a fun group and fun activity after school. They work hard, try their best and will make sure to continue to do great!
