Olivia Freiberger, A Long Island Scholar Artist

Senior, Olivia Freiberger at Harborfields High School has gained the honor of being recognized for being a Long Island Scholar Artist. Olivia has been acting ever since she was a little girl, and has continued to do so throughout her high school career.

Olivia loves what she does. She has said, “Since I was a [little] girl, all I've wanted to do is help others, to me, theater is a means to achieve that. If I can make them forget their troubles for a while, it means everything to me.”

Her involvement in school activities such as the Harborfields Theatre Company and Harborfields Kickline shows her overall dedication and passion. She even said, “I am always looking to find things that make my heart skip a beat, things that motivate me to get up and create."

Olivia’s dedication has also been shown outside of school. She has performed in the Town of Oyster Bay Christmas Show under Lynda Cache including two Rockette inspired routines, a kickline number and a version of “The March of the Wooden Soldiers.” She has also performed for many years at the John W. Engeman Theatre in Northport

Last September, Olivia was chosen to be an intern BAE Systems for an aeronautical engineering company. Only a select few were selected to be a part of this opportunity through the Women in Technology program. It is explained that  "It is a highly selective program, in which we learned about the inequity in the engineering field and how there is a severe lack of women engineers."

Olivia is pursuing a degree in musical theatre, and will continue her long journey of being an actress after High School. Congratulations to Olivia Freiberger on her outstanding achievements.
