Help Support HFGVS Kicks For Cancer!

It is time for our annual Kicks for Cancer Fundraiser! It originated at Hauppauge High School in 2008 as a way to recognize and support Courtney Tompkin, a junior that had brain cancer. No matter what, she always had a big smile on her face and the soccer field was where she felt at home. Sadly, she passed away December 13, 2008. She left us with precious memories and so much love. This tradition’s proceeds will benefit other amazing children like Courtney who are suffering from cancer.

Specific organizations that this fundraiser aids are: The Making Headway Foundation, The American Cancer Society, The Dezy Strong Foundation, Kids Need More, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Islip Breast Cancer Coalition, CancerCare, Friends of Karen, Angels without Faces and many more including local families that may be suffering with a loss or diagnosis of cancer. This season, we are highlighting the Deezy Strong Foundation.

You must be thinking to yourself: “How can I donate?” The answer is you can buy a $5 raffle ticket which gives you the shot to win an awesome prize and the opportunity to help people in need! You can win an apple home pod, apple watch, Airpod Pros, $100 visa gift card, $50 visa gift card, and an apple air tag. Please buy a raffle ticket! Our goal is to raise $5,000 for those who can really use it.  So far, we have made $200 at our annual bake sale. Visit Mr. Wallace, Mrs. Turzer, or any player on girls varsity soccer to buy a ticket. This is for such a great cause and who knows, you might win something awesome. My teammate, Sophomore Keira Sammis commented  “This fundraiser is so heartwarming because it feels so good to be a big part of donating to children in need.”

Our game is Tuesday, October 12, at 4:30 on the turf. We are playing Kings Park who are doing really well this season, so it is going to be a tough game. Come wear pink and support!
