Back To “Normal”

Things seem to be looking up around here, sports are back and administrators  just made the decision to come back five days a week starting after break. To hopefully make a smooth transition back to “normal”, seniors go in first, juniors second and then the underclassmen. There are a lot of questions being asked, for example, are we going to be split up between the cafeteria and south gym for lunch? Are there going to be plexiglass shields around every desk? So many questions we are just going to have to find along the way. Is the student body even going to like this change?  Kids have gotten so used to their schedules and routines they will have some big adjustments to make. The biggest adjustment for me personally will be not napping during my free periods. Some people hate going to school so this pandemic was a blessing to them, and to others the only rest they get is their free periods. Many hate virtual learning, they find it overwhelming and frustrating and can't wait to get back.

Seniors are especially happy because at least we get to see the rest of our class and kids we've known since kindergarten. Teachers are going to love having everyone back, no one answers on the meets and it makes class so awkward.   By having everyone in the school kids will want to come in person. The biggest reason no one wanted to come in was because it was basically depressing, probably not the best word to use but that's what it was. The hallways were dead, the lunchroom silent, and gym class was the new library.  Hopefully there will be some life back in the school and it will get back to “normal”.  Senior Jordan Conversano stated, “ Hopefully I see the kids I haven't seen in over a year and the lunch room won't be so awkwardly silent. I am looking forward to having a full class and finishing senior year right”.  It hasn't been the senior year we thought we would get but at least we are finishing out with the full class and kind of normal.
