Upcoming October 2024 Movies
1.) Salem's Lot
Salem's Lot comes out on October 3rd. It is a Max Original based on Stephen King's 1975 Novel Salem's Lot. The movie is written and directed by Gary Dauberman, the man behind the IT movies, Annablle movies, and more. Lewis Pullman stars in the leading role of the film. The film is about a man named Ben Mears who returns to his hometown, Jerusalem's Lot, to look for inspiration for his next book. In the town, he discovers that the townsfolk are turning into vampires. This movie is sure to be an excellent supernatural horror film, sure to excite all fans of Stephen King.
2.) Joker: Folie À Deux
On October 4th, Joker: Folie A Deux releases; the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2019 film Joker. Joaquin Phoenix, who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of the Joker in the previous film will be reprising his role, and Lady Gaga will be starring alongside Phoenix as the infamous Harley Quinn. Todd Philips has also returned to direct the sequel. Philips has directed many hit movies, including the Hangover Trilogy. Joker: Folie A Deux will follow Arthur Fleck, who is now incarcerated in Arkham State Hospital, where he will meet Harley Quinn. This movie will contain some musical elements, while still keeping the dark and gritty aesthetic created by Todd Philips in the first film.
3.) Piece By Piece
Piece By Piece comes out on October 11th. It is a biopic about the life and career of Pharrel Williams, told in the style of LEGO animation. Pharell will be voicing himself in the movie, and it will feature other people voicing themselves such as Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and many more. The movie is directed by Morgan Neville and is being distributed by Focus Features. This is the first ever LEGO based film under Universal Studios, since Warner Bros had previously owned the rights to LEGO. This film is using the brand of LEGO in a unique way to tell the story of Pharrell Williams in a fun, colorful ,and imaginative style.
4.) Saturday Night
Saturday Night will be released on October 11th. It is directed by Jason Reitman, and will tell the story of what happened in the 90 minutes leading up to the first ever Saturday Night Live in 1975. Gabriel LaBelle stars as Lorne Michaels, the creator of SNL, and the film features an ensemble cast of well known actors and actresses, including J.K. Simmons and Willem Dafoe.
5.) The Apprentice
The Apprentice comes out October 11th. It stars Sebastian Stan as a young Donald Trump, and Jeremy Strong as his mentor, Roy Cohen, and Maria Bakalova as Ivanka Trump. It is directed by Ali Abbassi and written by Gabreil Sherman. The movie tells the story of Donald Trump in the 1970’s and 80’s starting up his real estate business in Manhattan. In the film, he encounters and befriends Roy Cohen, who mentors him on the ways to gain wealth and success, doing whatever it takes. This Donald Trump biopic is a riveting historical drama, filled with incredible acting performances by the stars of the film.
6.) Terrifier 3
Terrifer 3 is the third film in the Terrifier trilogy, and it comes out on October 11th. The movie is written and directed by Damien Leone. The film takes place on Christmas, and follows Sienna Shaw, played by Kauren LaVera, who is trying to rebuild her life, while the terrifying killer, Art the Clown is after her. Terrifer 3 is a gory, violent, and fearful winter slasher movie.
7.) Smile 2
On October 18th, Smile 2 will come out; the sequel to the popular and commercially successful 2022 film Smile. Naomi Scott stars as a pop singer in this horror and mystery movie, written and directed by Parker Finn. The story follows Skye Riley who is preparing to go on a world tour when she starts to experience terrifying yet unexplainable events. This film is a terrifying psychological horror film that is perfect for the spooky autumn season.
8.) Venom: The Last Dance
Venom: The Last Dance, the final film of the Venom trilogy, releases on October 25th. From Sony Pictures, the movie stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, the host of the Venom symbiote. Venom: The Last Dance is written and directed by Kelly Marcel. The film will follow Eddie Brock and Venom on another entertaining adventure full of crazy-fun action. This will be the duo's last run together, and they will be going out in a thrilling way.
9.) Conclave
Conclave comes out October 25th, 2024. It is directed by academy award winning director Edward Berger, who directed All Quiet on the Western Front, a 2022 critically acclaimed film. Ralph Fieenses stars in the film as Cardinal Lawrence, and the film features many other talented actors and actresses such as Stanley Tucci and Isabella Rossellini. Conclave is an adaptation of the 2016 novel with the same name from British author Robert Harris. The story follows the death of the pope, where the papal conclave has the important task of selecting a successor. Cardinal Lawrence discovers a secret of the deceased pope that involves the candidates in talks to succeed the position. The novel is adapted for the big screen by Peter Straughn. Academy Award winning composer Volker Bertelman, and collaborator of Edward Berger, composes the score for the film. Conclave is a suspenseful thriller that will be loved by fans and critics alike.
10.) Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare
From the creators of the internet phenomenon, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, comes Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, releasing on October 31st. Like its predecessor, the film tells a dark and twisted retelling of the well known public down character, Peter Pan. In the movie, Peter Pan is a sick and twisted killer, whose plan is to take his victims to “Neverland.” The film is violent, entertaining, action packed slasher that is sure to give you a scare on Halloween!
