The Bail Project

A main idea of American society in 2020 is the push to combat “systemic racism”. The Bail Project is classified as an organization that, “...a critical tool to combat racial disparities in the bail system”. Robin Steinberg, the CEO, was once a public defender. Countless times she had her clients turn to her and say, “I can’t afford that”, after a judge set bail. On bailproject.org, it boasts about bailing out 12,281 inmates to date, as of October 6, 2020, and that your donation could be used up to three times its face value. “Freedom Should Be Free”, is another slogan on the website. In essence, implying nobody should be charged for a crime solely based on the fact that this is a free country. That on it’s own should tell you enough about this organization.

Other Google searches will result in similar words, and from the outside, it seems like a  model organization. However, you won’t find the truth of The Bail Project unless you can get past the manipulative news to hear the truth.

Here is the truth: Samuel Lee Scott is a 54 year old man from Chicago who was initially arrested on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge for punching his wife, Marcia Johnson in the face. As he was being detained by officers, he yelled he would, “Finish what he started”. The Bail Project was quick to pay up, and on April 9, 2019 just a few short weeks after his initial arrest, they raised enough money to pay Scott’s $5,000 bail. That same day, he went to Marcia Johnson’s home and killed her. He is now facing a first degree murder charge.

In response to this irresponsible, despicable tragedy, CEO Steinberg was quick to cover her tracks. In a statement, she said, “No one could have predicted this tragedy. It's important to remember that had he been wealthy enough to afford his bail, or bonded out by a commercial bail bond agency, he would have been free pretrial as well. In times like this, we must come together for this family and keep sight of the need to transform the larger systems that create poverty, racism and violence, including the pretrial bail system.” This statement is absolutely disgusting. Not only is this assumption a lie, it is totally irrational. To bail out a criminal, who’s clear intention was to kill, then defend him for doing it while continuing to bash the system that would’ve prevented it from happening is an utter embarrassment to the way we have handled criminal justice for the last 250 years.

Steinberg wasn’t done though. She later said, "it is inexcusable to use Ms. Johnson's memory to stoke fear and undermine the real dialogue that needs to happen here, which is how can we prevent gender-based violence without relying on the very jails that break people and perpetuate harm, violence and poverty in families for generations." Another delusional justification of pure denial. All this radical group is doing is causing more harm in this country. If you can’t see that, you are a part of the problem. The Trump administration is the only aspect of the U.S. Government that is in favor of restoring law and order. Everyone else wants to adhere to the violent demands of Black Lives Matter and the radical corrupt politicians that endorse them.

Scott is just one example. Another Chicago man named Christian Stewart was arrested for firing a pistol at his ex-girlfriend while at his six-year-old son’s birthday party. “I should pop you right now!”, he said as he was being hauled away by police. The Bail Project got him out and he proceeded to set his ex-girlfriend’s house on fire. She had to be rescued by firefighters while dangling from her kitchen window. A man named Kenneth King was bailed out twice first for assaulting a woman, then for committing larceny. A man named Matthew Richardson tried to blow up a car in the parking lot of the Pentagon. He was bailed out by The Bail Project. Another man, Vicshawn Blockton was bailed out of his $2,500 after he was picked up on a first-degree robbery charge. Just weeks later, he was arrested again for armed robbery. The list goes on and on and on. Criminals who are bailed out are highly likely to reoffend.

The Bail Project isn’t only enabling and endorsing criminals, they are criminals. A woman named Holly Zoller, of The Bail Project was arrested for renting a U-Haul truck with riot supplies to be dropped off in the city of Louisville, Kentucky amidst violent marxist riots over the supreme court decision regarding the officers involved in the Breonna Taylor case. These are the types of people that are at the head of organizations like The Bail Project. They need to be stopped or else there will continue to be an anarchy in the streets until someone has enough power or the will to stop them.

Here’s some more perspective: 13 members of Joe Biden’s campaign staff, the staff that is campaigning to run the United States, have made significant donations to a group that works in conjunction with The Bail Project to bail out “protesters” in the city of Minneapolis. “Protesters” meaning rioters. You aren’t arrested if you are just protesting. Senator and Democratic Vice-Presidential Elect Kamala Harris, former District Attorney of the state of California has also endorsed these organizations, calling them “heroic”. Under DA Harris, black people were 19 times more likely than white people and hispanics to be prosecuted for minor drug offenses. The absolute worst thing you can do in front of the public eye is to be contradictory to yourself. If we are going to trust a new presidential administration to take over the White House, we must be able to trust them and know that how they stand today, is how they will stand tomorrow and everyday. Kamala Harris, who is running for the vice presidency of the United States, although the left denies it, that is the truth, can’t be trusted on that front

But the real question is who is funding The Bail Project, raising millions of dollars in bail money? The organization is primarily funded by Michael Novagratz, one of the richest people in the United States. He is a former hedge fund manager and crypto currency trader. He will never feel the effects of what his money is doing to this country. He lives nowhere near the neighborhoods where these criminals target. He and other billionaires who give their money to organizations like these live in some of the safest neighborhoods in America. Even if a criminal decided to approach their residence, they would have to get past their armed bodyguards first.

But are these billionaires really concerned about criminal justice reform, or do they have a larger agenda? The nature of censorship and manipulative journalism that consumes the country will purposely avoid asking tough, but legitimate questions just because your money is going to the cause of “social justice”. Tough questions that may not be the most comfortable ones to ask like, how did you make all of your money? And, what exactly is crypto currency, and how does it make this country better? Censorship is a huge problem in this country. The media has used it to push “implicit bias”, a theory that all people are a part of a systemic issue that is against black people and other minorities. Individuals are biased, Kamala Harris for example, but not society as a whole.

All of this ties into the general message of the radical left in 2020. They hate our country and every system that makes it up. Since this country is so terrible, it must be torn to the ground and started from scratch again. To disagree with this message, means that you are a racist and a white supremacist. This message can’t continue to gain traction. It must be pointed out loud and clear for what it is, and not let it deter us from the original ideologies of the United States.
