False Information Spread by Covid Letters

If you have received a letter over the past couple weeks saying that you will be used to test the Covid vaccine it is NOT a real letter. Many letters are going around Long Island spreading misinformation about Covid-19 vaccines. These letters are informing people that Covid vaccines are going to be tested on minorities. These letters are going out to scare parents.

These letters seem to be targeting low-income families, which is a terrible thing because they are already worrying about paying bills on their low income during Covid-19. At first these families didn't know what to think of the letters and if they were real or not.

I spoke to Johnny Pastorelli, a 11th grader at HHS about this issue and he said, “It is just awful and the fact that they are targeting low income families just makes it even more sad.” Jake Starkey, grade 11 also commented saying “ This is extremely sad and I hope the authorities can figure out who is behind this and bring it to an end”.

The senator has gotten Nassau police involved and they are currently investigating the situation. They currently have no leads but are urging people that if you receive a letter not to worry because nothing in that letter is true and if you receive the letter you need to contact police immediately.
