The Beatles - Now and Then

The Beatles have just released a new song.  Yes, you heard me correct, The Beatles, Famous rock band that revolutionized music and broke up in 1970, just released a brand new song using automated machine learning.  “Now and Then” was an old home recorded demo of John Lennon he recorded in 1977.

In 1994, after John Lennon passed, Yoko Ono,  John’s Widow,  presented the Beatles with a unique opportunity to record and finish producing John’s demo for the Beatles Anthology.  They recorded part of the song, but it was later abandoned because of the poor quality of the home recording.

Now in 2023, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr used modern AI technology, with the help of Peter Jackson, to enhance and restore John’s demo, and release it as “the last Beatles Song”.

They took George’s guitar he recorded from the 94 sessions and used it on the recording.  Unfortunately, the guitar solo was unable to be restored, but Paul McCartney re-recorded his solo in George’s iconic style, as a tribute to him.   Paul and Ringo recorded their parts, and on November 2nd, Now and Then was released to the world, as the last Beatles song, along with a short documentary detailing the production process and promoting the song.
