Battle of the Harries

Historians said that the American Revolution ended in 1784, but current events beg to differ. The Europeans and Americans are butting heads again, but this time it’s not political. World famous pop singer, Harry Styles, has ignited a fire between his international fans. European Harries and American Harries are in a dispute, and from an outsider's perspective, it’s the silliest squabble around.

From the European’s point of view, Mr. Styles does not perform enough in his home country of England. On the opposite side, the Americans are thrilled with the amount of performances that Harry Styles has in the United States. No direct attacks, verbal or physical, have broken out, but there have been some passive aggressive remarks thrown during the concerts.

One line from the 2023 Grammy winning album, Harry’s House, perfectly captures this aggressiveness. In the hit song, As It Was, Styles sings, “...leave America…”, and some fans capitalized on this moment. Who knew that two measly words could cause an explosion of drama. During the Europe leg of Love on Tour, European fans would loudly scream/ sing “leave America'' at Harry Styles. This could’ve been a joke, or a subtle hint to actually, leave America. In rebuttal, the American Harries would be dead silent during this line.

Harry Styles never addressed these comments until now. At a recent concert, Mr. Styles changed the lyrics of the song to, “never leave America'' to show his love for the American fans. The Euro Harries were less than pleased. Apparently, some European fans sold their concert tickets out of anger towards the star. Most Harry Styles fans shouldn’t be grouped in with the angries of the fan base. A broadcast student and Harry Styles fan, Ainsley Batsford, said, “We should all just love each other, it was literally the name of his tour.” in response to the current drama. Hopefully in the future, the Harries will find common ground and will treat each other with kindness!
