Drew Brees breaks the All-Time record for Career Passing TDs
Drew Brees is debatably the best quarterback of all time. He already holds the all time passing record with 76,884 yards. On December 16 Brees broke another major all time record.
Brees took the all time passing touchdown record from Peyton Manning with 539 touchdowns. Drew threw for 4 touchdowns giving him 541 touchdown passes in his career. He had a remarkable game as well going 29/30 with 307 yards and 4 TDs.
To have this type of performance on such a historical night is incredible. Brees has had an outstanding career. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 2nd round 32nd overall. He spent 5 seasons with the Chargers throwing for 12,348 and 80 TDs.
He suffered a 360 degree Labrum tear and and a partially torn rotator cuff. The Chargers offered him backup money and non guaranteed starting sport, having a healthy Phillip Rivers on the bench. Drew wanted to start for an NFL team and wanted starter money. His shoulder injury was very severe so not a lot of people wanted to take a shot at him.
He was offered contracts by the Saints and the Dolphins. The Dolphins offered him a little more money than the Chargers but did not guarantee that starting role. The Saints also offered Brees a little more money than the Chargers but they also guaranteed him the starting QB job.
Brees obviously accepted the job with the Saints because he most of all wanted to be a starting QB again. Brees was very successful with the Saints winning the teams first Superbowl against the Indianapolis Colts in 2010. Brees will definitely become a hall of famer and debatably the best quarterback to ever play the game.
