Did Antonio Brown's Plan Take a Sudden Dark Turn?
Former Pittsburgh Steeler wideout Antonio Brown, known for his superstar performance, has had a lot on his plate in the last month. With an abundance of backlash for attitude problems and unnecessary drama Antonio Brown has it all. Problems with former quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, led to issues in the locker room with other players and to Antonio Brown being put on the trade block.
Of course when teams here that superstar talent is up for trade, they will be quick to act upon it. One of the first teams to act upon it was New England Patriots, defending champions. Pittsburgh was quick to stop negotiation with New England, knowing the Patriots are one of the teams they need to worry about in an already competitive division. This when it is believed that Antonio and the Patriots began having discussion on moving him to an already elite team.
If this is true then everything went according to plan for Antonio. He was traded to a team with little to no hopes of competing for a title. Once Antonio arrived in Oakland, he immediately started to create problems around him. He was complaining about every little thing. One of the issues that caught the most attention was the helmet incident, where he refused to play unless he plays with his old helmet. On the surface it seemed like a ridiculous thing to make a statement about. Yet behind the scenes this is exactly what Antonio and the Patriots wanted. All these issues built up to the point where Mike Mayock, Oakland GM, and Antonio started an argument, which ultimately resulted in Antonio Brown requesting to be released from the Raiders..
Coincidentally New England gave him a call and signed him a few hours after being released. Everything worked according to plan, the Patriots get their star wideout and Antonio is now on a team that will almost certainly win him a title as champion.
Everything was looking up for him, until recently a lawsuit was filed against Antonio Brown for rape charges as, allegedly, Antonio raped his former trainer. Could this be karma or yet another part of the Patriots plan? As stated by HF Vice President and Steeler fan Micheal Panariello, “I believe Antonio Brown is suffering some form of CTE, which may be the reason for his behavior, so in order to help he should take a year to recover similarly to what Le’Veon bell did. And this is coming from a long time Steeler fan who loves Antonio Brown.”
All people no matter if the love or hate him are curious to see the outcome of this lawsuit, and what will become of Brown and the Patriots?
