NBA POSTPONES LAKERS GAME AFTER HELICOPTER CRASH THAT KILLED KOBE BRYANT AND EIGHT OTHERS
Kobe Bryant, a former professional basketball player and shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers finished a 20-season career with five NBA championships.
After a sudden helicopter accident that occurred on Sunday, killing Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and eight others, the National Basketball Association confirmed that Tuesday’s Laker’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers has been postponed.
“The decision was made out of respect for the Lakers organization, which is deeply grieving the tragic loss of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven other people in a helicopter crash on Sunday,” the NBA said in a statement Monday.
The helicopter crashed into a hillside killing everyone on board under extremely foggy conditions. Officials say the cause of the crash has yet to be determined. Inquirers from the coroner's special operation response team were able to recover three bodies before Sunday evening. However, its uncertain which bodies have been recovered.
The unforeseen death of the 41-year- old NBA icon has left fans grieving and expressing their condolences for Bryant’s family as well as the seven other victims.
