HF Upcoming Events

We are off to a great start of the 2019-2020 school year here at HF. With exciting events around the corner, students were hyped for recent events such as The Friday Night Lights Game on October 4th. Coming up is Halloween at the end of this month, Pep Rally, Homecoming and even Spirit Week. The beginning of the school year is full of events, and HF students are filled with school spirit. Student, Kelsi Smith explained that “These events are why this is my favorite time of the year. It makes school so much more fun.”

The Friday Night Lights Game was a little over two weeks ago, on Friday October 4th. The varsity Football team played Rocky Point, and the theme of the game was Blackout. HF students filled the stands, dressed in all black, in support of the team. Unfortunately, the team was unable to secure the win, but is staying positive for the rest of the season.

The week before Pep Rally and Homecoming is Spirit week. Spirit Week is filled with many exciting days full of dressing up with your friends, and it’s filled with tons of school spirit! The spirit days this week are Pajama day, America Day, Neon Day, Class Shirt Day, and HF  Pride Day

Pep Rally is aright around the corner. Pep Rally is Friday, October 25th. Students are eagerly awaiting the fun-filled night. Student, Lili Noah, explained that she is “very excited” to watch the Kickline perform their annual dance at Pep Rally. In addition to the Kickline dance, sports teams announce their players, and after the events inside, students go outside for a quick bonfire.

Homecoming is also right around the corner. Homecoming is the Saturday after Pep Rally, October 26th. The football team may be off to a rough start, with only a few wins, but they plan on changing that, and putting more wins under their belt in their next few games. HF Junior, and Varsity Quarterback, Tommy Widmer explained that, “We’re going to take home the win. It’s our field.”

Halloween is also around the corner. HF students are gearing up to plan their awesome costumes in school. Besides sports events and Halloween, students should also be on the lookout for Club meetings and other sports games within this month.
