NAHS Holiday Window Painting Fundraiser

On November 20th, the National Art Honor Society at Harborfields High School went to many Greenlawn businesses and painted on their windows for the holiday season. They had first gone to these businesses before to ask if they would be interested in the spread of this holiday cheer.

In total, there were seven businesses who had signed up by either confirming yes or seeing the members painting and wanted the holiday cheer for their own businesses.

It is definitely a warm welcome as we transition into the holiday spirit. They used paint and posca pens for supplies along with the help of the club advisor, Mrs. Ritter. They definitely had the help from some experienced artists and more importantly painters.

President of NAHS, senior Marina Bak has said that this fundraiser is, “Something NAHS will be doing every year.” While adding, “I know it may be early in the year but we definitely did not want to do this in extremely cold weather.” Having this opportunity for community service to help promote small businesses is even more important due to the pandemic.

As a whole, the organization was able to spread holiday cheer throughout the community as people walked by and drove in their cars to compliment the artwork. They plan on doing this fundraiser on a yearly basis to usher in the holiday season. Make sure to take some time to look at the many businesses with artwork on Broadway that will be up throughout the month of December!
