Losing your mind over Netflix?
As much as everyone loves Netflix, the recent deleting of many beloved shows has been making people lose it. Shows such as One Tree Hill, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights and Titanic have been taken off as expected, but the sudden drop of Gilmore Girls infuriated people. When fans couldn’t find Gilmore Girls on October 1st, a hysteria was brought to Twitter leaving loyal fans and new recruits shook. Comments poured in ranging from “How do I cancel my Netflix membership?” to ”My morning has been a devastating heartbreak”. One fan asked how she could stop literally get off the planet. Even the Hamilton creator Lin Manuel Miranda was visibly upset. Luckily for fans, Netflix said it was a glitch and immediately put the series back on. Fans do hope this was merely a mistake, and not someone at Netflix getting mad at Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of Gilmore Girls, for just signing a multi-year deal with rival Amazon earlier this week. However, Sherman’s comment "Amazon is the future of television and we are thrilled to tag along for the ride," doesn’t give Netflix fans much hope.
The big issue with this minor glitch was the reaction from thousands of people. After maybe 30 minutes of not being able to watch a show, people were losing their minds! Leaving you to question, is our society becoming too reliant on television shows for entertainment and is it corrupting the youth of America?
