Spring Fashion 2018

The weather is getting warmer each day, the flowers are beginning to bloom, and the spring fashion is finally approaching and hitting the racks with trends and styles like you’ve never seen before! Stayed tuned to hear the 5 most trendy fashion items of spring 2018!

“My favorite part of spring is finally being able to wear different clothes and sundresses. I love seeing all the new spring styles” says senior Brittany Vaughn”

The first trend that we have seen taking a lot of the hangers in stores is the color yellow and or mustard. The color is very positive and is pleasing to the eye while also looking very trendy.

As stated in the “soulbyweekly.com” website, “Although traditionally considered very hard to pull off as it tends to wash out the skin, the colour now comes in several shades to suit a variety of skin tones. For lighter skin tones, candy pastel works really well as do shades of amber and mustard. For medium to olive skin tones, sunshine yellow looks wonderful, while dark skin tones can rock all the shades of the colour without a worry.” So don’t be shy, be bold and wear yellow!

This next trend seems to be following us everywhere. You will not escape this item in any store and you should definitely purchase one because it will always look good while keeping you cool in the sun. Off-The-Shoulder shirts made their first appearance in the mid 1800’s and is still one of the most trendy spring/summer clothing items. They can be styled with a denim skirt, shorts, jeans, and anything you can imagine.  You can look trendy while getting a tan and staying cool. As said by Geoffrey Henning, the vice president at JCPenney for fashion and design, “To me, this is the best thing that’s happening right now in women’s apparel.”

There's nothing better than the simple and classic denim. Denim skirts are making a reappearance in the fashion industry and can be styled in many different ways. In 1938, denim skirts were introduced and now today we see many teens wearing them again. They come in a variety of colors and styles and are comfortable to wear. As said by Blogger Robyn Bates,         “Hippies were the first to invent the denim skirt in the 1960's. Now a days, this style is recognised all over the world. The skirt was created on the streets and since then, it has been picked up by major fashion designers.”

A new trend that is quickly taking over stores is front tie tops. Front tie tops can be a shirt or a crop top that has a bow that crosses in the front. They have solid ones if you’re going for a simple look and they also have ones with patterns such as stripes or floral.  They are sold in most stores including Urban Outfitters which has a large variety of them. You can easily dress these shirts up with anything and a simple and casual go-to spring outfit.

Lastly, white sneakers are a must have for your spring wardrobe. Some brands that are very known for their white sneakers include Vans, keds, toms, and converse. These pair well  with any outfit and will keep you on your feet. If you are doing something that involves lots of walking on a warm spring or summer day these will be more supportive than flip flops or sandals.

So, this spring be cool and stay trendy!
