Black Friday Shopping

As we all know this upcoming Friday is Black Friday. Well, if you don’t already know, it’s a special day of the year after Thanksgiving when stores have insanely good sales for their customers. Black Friday is by far the biggest shopping day of the year.

Things are quite different this year though. With COVID-19 people won’t be going into stores or malls as much due to COVID restrictions. In addition, even if they decide to go shopping and go out on a whim to take the risk, lines will be so much longer then usual considering only a select number of people ranging from 5-10 people can go into a store at once. Shopping would take so ridiculously longer than usual!

Most of us, hopefully will be shopping from home. It definitely takes away from the experience of Black Friday shopping, but it is so much safer. If you opt for that option my only suggestion is to go online as early as possible before your preferred items get sold out. Senior, Kelsi Smith, explained that, “Black Friday shopping is one of my favorite times of the year. It really is such a fun, unique experience. I’m disappointed that I won’t be going this year, but I understand that staying home is probably the best idea due to increasing cases of COVID and I know how long the lines will be.”

Some stores have even started their sales early. Through research, I’ve found that almost every store has opened their site to 20-60% off store-wide. It also seems that due to COVID, Black Friday sales will be even better than previous years. Stores are being much more lenient and are applying typically only in-store sales to online too- giving back for the holidays and hopefully trying to attract more customers due to their generous sales.

Most people even try to get their Christmas shopping done on Black Friday. It’s a stressful task but it allows you to save money during a typically expensive time of the year. People often even question if the deals are that great- but I can promise if you shop smartly and look for things you specifically want, you will find some great bargains.
