Are Christmas Decorations Before Thanksgiving too Early?

As someone who loves to celebrate Christmas, I believe it is never too early to put up Christmas decorations. But how early is too early, is it before Thanksgiving? I like to think not, but there are some people who argue otherwise.

Traditionally, Christmas decorations should go up after Thanksgiving, but Christmas lovers and businesses are pushing for earlier. Macys and other department stores start to display Christmas decorations and merchandise before Halloween ends. And Starbucks gives out their holiday cups after Halloween. But why so early? It is believed businesses want to lengthen the holiday season since they get most of their revenue during the season. Although many people like myself don't mind starting off the Christmas season early there are plenty of people who do.

Harborfields Highschool student, Shepard Granger is one of the many who prefer to start off the Christmas season after Thanksgiving. Shepard stated, “ I love Christmas, however I believe putting up decorations before Thanksgiving totally ruins Thanksgiving as a holiday.” Even though there are many people who think like Shepard there are many people who would totally disagree with him.

 Senior, Nataile Pedrazzi, who loves Christmas stated , “I love to put up Christmas decorations early, it makes me feel happier.” Nataile Pedrazzi isn't the only one who thinks like this, many psychologists have done studies that have proven that Christmas decorations help boost people's moods. Psychologists agree that putting up Christmas decorations early benefits your mood.

So is putting up Christmas Decorations before Thanksgiving too early? I don't think so, however there will always be other people who think otherwise.
