Gift Giving Season

As we approach the holiday season, we definitely have to start thinking about holiday gifts. The holidays really are not far away at all. Christmas and Hanukkah are both within the next two weeks. Christmas shipping and deliveries may take 2 times as long this year due to covid.

Meaning, if something is going to be ordered, order it now. It has been estimated that due to covid, less people will be shopping in person, therefore it is going to be absolute chaos when it comes to online shopping and getting those packages delivered. Online websites have been extremely overcrowded and overwhelmed by orders places- some companies can’t even keep up with the demand.

We also have to start thinking about gift ideas for our friends and family, not only for ourselves. One of the best, most rewarding parts of the holidays is giving back to your loved ones. Sure, getting gifts is great, but to give back means so much more!

If you were lucky enough to go Black Friday shopping and get some nice steals, you may have some or even most of your shopping done. If not then here are some suggestions: a good book, a nice sweater, a winter jacket, a new pair of shoes, jewelry such as rings, etc.

Holiday shopping can be stressful because of its costs. Not everyone can afford to buy or ask for a million gifts. The strain that Christmas shopping puts on Americans is immense. Especially with the pandemic going on, it makes shoppers much more stressed and anxious. Specifically, this can make shopping for others harder.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with making a gift yourself. If anything, that comes more from the heart than any other gift you could possibly buy someone. You can make a scrapbook of pictures with that special someone, you can paint a portrait if you’re artistically inclined, you can go to your local thrift store.

The other day, I found two vintage bags for under $10. Any other store would have sold it for $100 each, but since it was bought at a thrift store, it doesn't matter how much it is valued in the real world- it was donated so now it's up for grabs at a standard, fair price.

That’s what is so great about thrifting, you can find the most expensive item in the world, but you buy it for under $10 most of the time. These clothes or items come from all over, so the options are endless and you can find the coolest, most unique things whilst saving money! I know the idea of thrifting can be discouraging, but it really does save so much money and you can find the best things.

There are great finds everywhere, at a variety of prices. If you look hard enough or if you put to use your creativity, you can surely come up with something good.
