The Perfect Gift for a Friend

When you look up on google, “What should I get my friend for Christmas?”, all of the lists are very outdated or contain items that teens would have no interest in.

When I’m getting gifts for my friends, I think it’s best to get them something nice, but not too expensive, and then a bunch of side gifts of items that you know they will love or mean something to your friendship. This goes for both boys and girls.

Teens like simple and comfortable clothes that they can wear on a daily basis at home or at school.

Examples of the “nice gift” could include a good quality sweatshirt, crewneck, matching pajama set, leggings, or joggers.

A meaningful side gift could include their favorite candies, or something with their favorite scent. You can even go the extra mile and do something handmade or frame a picture of you and your friend together.

If you get a bunch of side gifts, you could even get away with just getting your friend a gift card to a store that you know they love.

Something I would avoid is getting your friend a random gift card because you don’t know if they even like that store or not. Also, when purchasing clothes, I think it is smart to stick to loosely fitting items because it will be comfortable and it is easier to judge what will fit them right. Getting a tighter shirt or pants can make it difficult to get the right size. According to Senior Dylan Olson, “I would never want socks for Christmas!” This is a given but stay away from purchasing socks and underwear!

This Christmas, get your best friend a nice item of clothing along with meaningful side gifts. It is the perfect combination to put a smile on anyone's face!
