The number of missing people from the recent hurricane has dropped significantly to 1,300 people. This hurricane was one of the worst storms the archipelago has ever faced. Finding more people was a bit of good news after this tragedy. Last Wednesday, the government stated that the number of missing was about 2,500 but after going through cross-referencing databases, the government came to a conclusion and revised the amount of missing to 1,300. When talking to Kieran Tully about this disaster he said, “The fact that 1,300 people are missing after this hurricane must leave the people of these islands terrified.”

In recent news, a day of mourning is occurring in Liberia after a school fire killed 27 children. Liberia has announced a national day of mourning for this tragic event that took place at a religious boarding school outside Monrovia, the Liberian capital. The children of this school were sleeping in a building that is attached to a mosque at an islamic school. This school in Paynesville City, Liberia caught fire Tuesday at approximately 11 pm.

Last Saturday, archaeologists found a one-of-a-kind tomb in perfect condition in Saqqara, Egypt. According to Khaled al-Anani, Egypt’s minister of antiquities, it was the tomb of a Royal Priest that lived during the 5th dynasty.
